Aberdeen, WA - Christi Boora, a parent and school counselor who co-chaired the Aberdeen School District’s levy campaign last spring, was appointed to the Aberdeen School Board Thursday night, September 27th.

Mrs. Boora will take the oath of office at the board’s next meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, in the Community Room at Aberdeen High School. She will be filling the vacancy created by the death of Jeff Snell.

Mrs. Boora grew up on Grays Harbor and is a 1990 graduate of Aberdeen High School. She and her husband, Jim Boora, have two children who attend schools in Aberdeen. She holds a master’s degree in counseling psychology and has worked with children of all ages, as well as adults and families. In addition to her professional qualifications, Mrs. Boora has been active in the community, including coaching youth soccer and volunteering with the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, United Way of Grays Harbor, the AHS Boosters, the Salvation Army and Rotary. She also is a disaster counselor for the American Red Cross.
