Montesano Closes City Forest, Urges Fire Safety

Due to the increased fire hazard, the city of Montesano has closed all trails and roads into the city forest and is asking citizens to please stay out until notified. Effective immediately, the trails and roads into the City Forest will be closed.

This closure is due to the higher than average fire danger in the area. Please respect this request. You will be notified when the roads and trails are re-opened.

The City of Montesano owns a nearly 5,000 acre forest immediately north of the City and within the City Limits. It is operated for multi-use goals, including sustained income, recreation, and fish and wildlife habitat.
