Meetings to Discuss Future of Satsop Business Park

Elma, WA - Leaders of both Satsop Business Park and the Port of Grays Harbor are offering opportunities for the public to learn more about the organizations’ possible consolidation at two open-house style workshops set for Tuesday, Sept. 18 and Wednesday, Sept. 19. Tuesday’s workshop begins at 5:30 p.m. at the office of Satsop Business Park in Elma. The office is at 150 Technology Way. Wednesday’s workshop begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Port of Grays Harbor Office, 111 South Wooding St. in Aberdeen. At both workshops, participants can go to various stations to learn about the Port and the Business Park, ask questions, and discuss one-on-one with a variety of leaders from both organizations.

“We want to give the public an opportunity to learn about each of our organizations and why we think consolidation may be the best way to accomplish our mission,” said Tami Garrow, CEO of Satsop Business Park. “Our board has been considering this possibility for a long time and thinks it has some real advantages for the people of Grays Harbor.”
“We see this consolidation possibility as an opportunity to bring two extremely strong, competent organizations into the form of one, and become a premier economic development organization for the state,” said Port Executive Director Gary Nelson. “We have an opportunity to not only serve our community in providing jobs, but to also be a model for the state in how rural economic development can work and serve the citizens.”
