Hoquiam Police See Increase in Vehicle Prowls

The Hoquiam Police Department has been investigating an increase of Vehicle Prowls complaints around the city.  We are reminding people to lock their vehicles and take valuables out of the vehicle.  The Hoquiam Police Department is stepping up patrols in all areas and contacting subjects out during the late night and early morning hours.  We are asking the citizens of Hoquiam to help curb this or any illegal activity by calling 911 anytime they see or hear anything suspicious around their neighborhoods.

There have been 11 vehicle prowls reported since the first of August.  Many times these types of crimes go unreported as the victim discovers their vehicle had been entered but nothing taken.  We encourage citizens to report these and all crimes to the police department so we can identify trends or problem areas.
