Hoquiam, WA - A 28 year old Lacey man sits in county jail, his Harley totaled, after attempting to elude Hoquiam Police late Saturday night.
Deputy Police Chief Don Wertanen tells us a patrol officer clocked the bike on Myrtle street at around 50 just after midnight Saturday. The officer lost sight on Industrial, but saw the motorcycle lying on its side as they turned onto Bay Avenue in pursuit.
Wertanen tells us the bike had apparently struck a curb, it's rider was thrown through a wooded fence then struck a residence in the 2800 block of Bay Avenue.
The driver was taken to the hospital and released later with minor injuries, then booked into the Grays Harbor county jail for DUI and Felony Eluding.
The motorcycle was a total loss. There was no damage to the residence the driver hit but the fence sustained several hundred dollars damage.
