Grays Harbor County Fair Begins Today in Elma

Elma, WA - Grays Harbor County marks more than a century of down-home country fun as it opens the five-day County Fair in Elma, August 8-12.

Favorite carnival rides, midway games and animal exhibits offer hands-on excitement in addition to the family-friendly live-entertainment stages, car races and fair-food concessions. Returning for another year, the popular 4H-sponsored animals, floral displays and garden entries will be judged in the fair pavilion and barns.

Special headlining attractions include the Grammy Award-winning Charlie Daniels Band in concert and the iconic Davis Carnival midway. Sprint-car racing at the Gray Harbor Raceway will round out the action entertainment set. For kids of all ages, the popular Predators of the Heart wildlife education program exhibit aims to educate and inspire visitors about wildlife and conservation.

Fair tickets include free general admission to top-notch live musical entertainment on the Pepsi stage. This year’s entertainment lineup features Pop Idols in Concert, Hotel California tribute band as well as country-rock music tribute group, Bayou Boys. Tickets for preferred concert seating in the Golden Circle are now available for $25.

“With general admission to the fair at only $10 for adults, $6 for seniors, $6 for students up to 15, the County Fair is a great bargain,” said Mike Bruner Grays Harbor Tourism director. “One daily ticket provides entrance to all the live entertainment, fair exhibits, car races and more. What’s more, children up to 6 are free. And there are military discounts every day for $2 off.”

Unlimited Davis Carnival ride wristbands are available at the pre-sale price of $25. Discounted passes are on sale at the Grays Harbor County Fair office, Montesano Farm & Home and Les Schwab Tire locations throughout the county. Entertainment sponsors are Horn & Hooks magazine, Salon 601 Designers, Sierra Pacific Industries and the Great NW Federal Credit Union.
