McCleary, Washington – Grays Harbor Public Hospital District No. 1, currently doing business as Mark Reed Health Care District, encourages the public to submit ideas for a name for the new campus opening in Elma early next year. Names can be submitted online only by visiting the current website at www.markreed.org. The new campus will feature the District’s only hospital and a third primary care clinic to join current District clinics: Mark Reed Health Care Clinic (McCleary) and Elma Family Medicine (Elma). Grays Harbor County Public Hospital District #1 Board of Commissioners voted unanimously at their meeting July 25th to create a committee that will research options and compose a name that the committee will then present to the Commissioners for a vote at the next monthly board meeting August 23rd.

Hospital District Administrators, Commissioners, and Staff are looking for a name that will be representative of the entire region they serve and services they provide. The community is encouraged to help by submitting ideas. The deadline for submitting names will be noon, Sunday, August 5th. “This decision wasn't taken lightly,” Renee Jensen, CEO shared, “We will continue to operate a rural health care clinic in the McCleary location with the name of Mark Reed. We felt it was important to uniquely identify these two locations to avoid confusion. It is important to be respectful of and preserve the history of the McCleary site while allowing the new campus to create its own identity.” The current Mark Reed Campus in McCleary consists of both Mark Reed Healthcare Clinic and Mark Reed Hospital. When Mark Reed Hospital closes in February 2013, Mark Reed Healthcare Clinic will remain open and operating out of its current offices. The District hopes to fill the space that will be vacated when the hospital moves with third party medical vendors.
