Raymond Pursuit Ends With Drug Arrest

Raymond, WA - A High speed pursuit in Raymond on Friday ended when officers found their man in the loo.
Chief Criminal Deputy Pat Matlock tells us just before 1 Friday afternoon a patrol officer attempted to stop a red dodge truck, near the Franklin Street exit to state route 101. The vehicle made several unsafe maneuvers at high rates of speed through alleys of downtown Raymond, Matlock said the truck drove through the city park next to the police station in an attempt to get away.
Officers blanketed the downtown area after the vehicle was found stalled and abandoned in the middle of Alder street. Several citizens who witnessed the incident unfold helped officers pinpoint the suspect, who had apparently fled to a local business and attempted to hide in the bathroom. The suspect was quickly apprehended and identified as William Showers, age 41, with a listed address in Long Beach, Washington. Showers had a valid Department of Corrections warrant for his arrest. A search of the vehicle that Showers was driving yielded a substantial amount of suspected tar heroin, methamphetamine and other materials that would be consistent with narcotics dealing and delivery. Showers was booked into Pacific County Jail on several felony charges.
