Elma, WA - The County Coroner has released the name of the man killed by a train in Elma last week. Coroner Dan Burns tells us the man struck by a train on the morning of June 28th was 43 year old Charles Jenkins of the Elma area.
Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott said that it appears the man was lying on the tracks as the train was approaching. Scott said the train sounded its horn and the conductor noted some movement from the man, but he was not able to get out of the way of the train in time.
The accident happened about two miles outside of Elma on Highway 12 toward Oakville on the 5100 block of the highway.
