Markham, WA - Westport Winery earned numerous medals at The Wine Society’s 19th annual Amenti del Vino International Wine Competition held in Groton, Connecticut on May 26. Shiver Me Timbers—the winery’s unique blend of Riesling, Passionfruit, Orange, and Guava—won top honors with a double gold medal. It was the second highest rated wine in the entire competition. Red Sky at Night, a raspberry chocolate wine, and Bordello Blonde an off-dry blend of Riesling and Gewurztraminer, both earned gold medals. Peaches on the Beaches brought home a shiny silver medal. Each of Westport’s 33 award-winning wines benefits different local charities. Shiver Me Timbers helps fund Grays Harbor’s Habitat for Humanity, Red Sky at Night benefits the Westport Timberland Library, Bordello Blonde contributes to the Aberdeen Museum of History, and Peaches on the Beaches assists Grays Harbor Breast Cancer Alliance.

The original art for these four wine’s labels were created respectively by Randy Miller, Rachel Rose, winery co-owner Kim Roberts, and Darryl Easter. The winery also commissions local artists to create sculptures commemorating each of their wines in their display gardens. Westport Winery is open for wine tasting daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The winery’s restaurant is open for lunch daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dinner is served on Friday and Saturday evenings from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Remember to sample one of the winery’s hand-crafted cocktails when you visit for lunch or dinner.
