Aberdeen Students Elected for Statewide Offices

Aberdeen, WA - High School students Erika Nelson and Nicole Tanselli participated in the SkillsUSA Officer Training held in Grand Mound, WA this past week. Sophomore Erika Nelson was re-elected as Washington State’s SkillsUSA President. This is also the third year in a row that a student from Aberdeen High School has held that position.

Aberdeen Junior Nicole Tanselli was elected as The SkillsUSA State Vice-President. Nicole served as the Olympic Region Vice-President last year.

Erika and Nicole will work together as their duties involve state convention planning, training, as well as representing the Grays Harbor area on key issues.

Also attending and serving as an officer trainer was SkillsUSA National Vice-President and former State President, Aberdeen Senior Karmen Ayres.

SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations. It was formerly known as VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America).
