Aberdeen, WA - Grays Harbor's Public Health Department has confirmed a case of pertussis (whooping cough) at Aberdeen High School. A letter sent to parents yesterday warns parents of the case confirmed to have been contagious between March 17th and April 11th. symptoms may still be visible for up to 3 weeks, and can include runny nose, sneezing, cough and low-grade fever. After 1-2 weeks the cough becomes more severe, and the "whooping" noise can be more audible. Parents are urged to contact their health care provider if symptoms do arise.
