Shelton, WA - Two Shelton men are jailed following their arrest Tuesday for what Mason County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Dean Byrd described as the brutal assault and robbery of a 23 year old Shelton man.
According to investigators the two suspects from Shelton, aged 28 and 29, had contacted the victim and arranged a meet at a predetermined location to conduct a purchase of heroin. Detectives say that the victim went to meet one of them at the public fishing area adjacent to the Bayshore Golf Course during the afternoon of March 26, 2012. The victim expected to meet only one and was unaware of the other suspect nearby. Byrd tells KBKW when the victim arrived at the public fishing access, he exited his car with cash in hand. As the victim talked to one suspect, the other exited an outdoor toilet and approached the victim from behind.
