Mark Reed Hospital Joins Quality Improvement Program

McCleary, WA - Mark Reed Hospital has joined thirty-seven other small hospitals in Washington State to participate in the National Rural Critical Access Hospital Medicare Beneficiaries Quality Improvement Project.

Lauren Day, Marketing and Public Relations Director tells KBKW Mark Reed Hospital is volunteering to monitor, report and ensure best practices on quality measures for heart failure, pneumonia, emergency room care, patient satisfaction and medication safety. Washington State is one of only thirteen states in the nation where all Critical Access Hospitals have pledged to participate in the project and publicly report their data. The three year project is aimed at improving rural health care through transparency and ensuring the best care for every patient, every time.

Brenda West, Chief Nursing Officer with Mark Reed Health Care District shares, “The team here at Mark Reed is truly committed to reducing healthcare disparities between urban and rural areas. We strive to be able to provide the rural community we serve with access to full-service, quality health care close to home. Participating in this program is just one of the many steps we have taken to ensure that we continue to build upon the level of quality care we already deliver.”
