Flood Watch 4pm Tuesday to Thursday Afternoon

Posted by David Haviland on February 21, 2012 at 8:49 am (443 social interactions)

Montesano, WA - The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a Flood Watch for all Grays Harbor Rivers from 4pm today through Thursday afternoon.

Over the next few days the area will see a great deal of rainfall which will cause all rivers and streams to rise.

At this time, NO rivers in Grays Harbor County are projected to reach flood Stage. If flooding does occur later in the week,

it is expected to be minor, impacting only low lying pasture land and roads.

As with any significant rainfall event, there is a possibility that small rivers and streams may overflow their banks, effecting citizens and roadways in the immediate area.

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR FLOODING BUT FLOODING IS NOT IMMINENT OR OCCURRING. MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AND BE READY TO ACT QUICKLY IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED OR A WARNING IS ISSUED.
