Racing this Saturday at Grays Harbor Raceway

This Saturday Night at Grays Harbor Raceway, located at the Fairgrounds in Elma, is Armed Forces Night at the Races. In Honor of our men and women who serve, and have served, with valid Military ID will be admitted free to the races. The Whitney's Auto Group Sprint Cars, Shipwreck Beads Modifieds, Cut Rate Auto Parts Hobby Stocks and the HiLine Homes Hornets will all be in action at the ASA Member track.
It could be a changing of the guard in the Whitney's Auto Group 360 Sprint Car Division as for the second race in a row, one of the new young lions JJ Hickle from Quilclene took home the win and jumped to the top of the point standings with 215 points. Opening night winner Jared Peterson from Stanwood and last year's Champion Glenn Borden Jr. from Raymond with 205 points. Shelton's Jay Cole sits 2 points back at 203, followed by Tacoma's Shawn Rice and Puyallup's TJ Hartman at 193.
In the Shipwreck Beads Modified division, Shelton's Scott Miller took over the lead in the points parade with 212 points, with a fourth place finish last Saturday Night. The night belonged to Shelton's Kris Asche, a former Hobby Stock Champion who won his first ever Modified main event. Seabeck's James Wolfard moved up to second place with 207 points, followed by McCleary's Jeff Foster with 199, Maple Valley's Rob Sjogren at 185 and top Rookie of the Year contender Joe German from Aberdeen with 183.
Aberdeen's Zack Simpson won his second Cut Rate Hobby Stock feature in a row last Saturday night and continues to lead the point standings with 230 points. Bremerton's Keith Knowlton sits in second with 216 points, followed by Derek Junell from Gig Harbor with 201 points, Olympia's Eddie Blood with 190 points and Alan Muenchow from Shelton with 188 points.
The HiLine Homes Hornets will make their first appearance of the year this Saturday night after being rained out of their opener May 2nd.
Next weekend will have two big days of racing as the ASCS Northwest Region Sprint Tour, hits town for two complete shows, on Saturday May 23rd and Sunday May 24th. The Triple X Ford Focus Midgets will also be in action on both nights.
The front gate will open at 4:30 pm, time trials at 5:45 pm, with racing to start at 7:00 pm.
