Aberdeen, WA - The Aberdeen High School chapter of SkillsUSA hosted five events this past weekend. The Bobcats swept the Photography and Audio Production competitions on their way to winning twelve of the fifteen medals awarded.

Amber Roche captured the gold while heading up the list of Bobcats in the photography competition. Miriam Wheeler and Angela Edwards took second and third respectively.

Not to be outdone, Aberdeen’s very own KAHS staff members swept the Audio Production competition fending off members from Gig Harbor KGHP members. The team of Robbie Kenagy and Selena Alvarado took top honors followed by the team of Kayla Shelton and Sidney Fenn. Taking third was the team made up of Jenna Prater and Bubba Mullilkin.

Double Winner in HVAC & Refrigeration and Major Appliance & Refrigeration was Bobcat sophomore Tommy Ryan. In Residential Wiring, the gold medal went to Aberdeen’s Michael Vanairsdale. Michael also took second in Major Appliance & Refrigeration.

The other two Aberdeen medalists were Erika Nelson, second in Residential Wiring and Kellen Schroeder, second in HVAC & Refrigeration.

All of these students have qualified to compete at the state level to be held April 12th through the 14th in Renton.
