Montesano, WA - After days at Grays Harbor County's Emergency Operations Center in Montesano, Deputy Director Chuck Wallace took his work home with him last night. Wallace tells KBKW he spent several hours directing traffic at the scene of an accident in Grayland last night, as first responders extracted the driver from a car versus pole collision on State Route 105 near cranberry road.
The Washington State Patrol reports a 69 year old Grayland man was transported to Community Hospital with undisclosed injuries after his 1987 Mitsubishi truck left the roadway around 6 Thursday evening. The State Patrol tells us the man was charged with driving under the influence.
Wallace said the accident occurred about 20 feet in front of his driveway. The Emergency Operations Center was activated at 10 o'clock Tuesday night, in anticipation of the coming winter storm.
