Hoquiam, WA - A Vancouver Washington man is jailed on arson charges, after he attempted to blow up a Hoquiam police vehicle at police headquarters, off of a state highway Wednesday afternoon. Police Chief Jeff Myers tells us a truck driver at the shop across State Route 101 noticed flames from the gas door of the department's patrol SUV and alerted officers who were able to extinguish the flames. Myers said the 22 year old had been contacted the day before when officers were told he had made threats to himself at the crisis clinic. Myers said he expects estimates at several thousand dollars in damages to the vehicle. The suspect was arrested at the crisis clinic without further incident.
