Posted by David Haviland on May 7, 2009 at 5:50 am (529 social interactions)

Grays Harbor County Public Health & Social Services conducted an Emergency Preparedness Drill Wednesday morning.
The drill worked with a scenario involving an outbreak of a ficticious virus identified as BOBCAT FEVER.  The drill included setting up an emergency clinic for dispensing of medication.

Wednesday's Emergency Drill was held at Sam Benn Gym at Aberdeen High School.

Joan Brewster, Director of the Grays Harbor Public Health Department tells us "We processed 349 people, the average time was 2.6 minutes, from the time they showed their form - until they exited"

Th drill used 13 dispensing lines - Brewster estimates that if they had been at full capacity (lines full - and people waiting), estimates are 550 per hour.

Brewster added "Wait times in line averaged 4 minutes, 67 people attended the drill - 5 were guests."

The medication of choice for such a virus; M&M's and Skittles.
