Puyallup Man Dies After Vehicle Rolls on Shelton Matlock Road

Shelton, WA - A Puyallup man died Friday morning, as a result of a one car collision 7.3 miles west of Shelton on the Shelton Matlock Road. The Mason County Sheriff's Department tells us Harold B. Nickerson, 73, Puyallup, died at the scene in spite of efforts to revive him. Nickerson and his 65 year old male passenger were westbound in Nickerson’s 1999 Ford Ranger on the Shelton Matlock Road when the vehicle lost control on black ice leaving the roadway striking a fence causing the vehicle to flip over and strike a stump. The vehicle came to rest on the passenger side. The passenger was transported to Mason General where he was treated and released.
