HOQUIAM, Wash. - Police Chief Jeff Myers today commended one of his officers for quickly disarming a drunk and disorderly suspect last night at the Hoquiam Shell station. Seargent Jeff Salstrom was responding to a disorderly conduct call when another officer pointed out that one of the men they were talking to had a gun. Salstrom stepped forward from behind the man and grabbed a loaded .40 caliber pistol from his belt. Officer David Blundred tells us a breathalyzer test at the scene showed .160 blood-alcohol content. The 22 year old Hoquiam man was booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail on Assault and disorderly charges.
