Homicide Suspect Allegedly Told Friends He Had Killed Two Demons

Posted by David Haviland on November 7, 2011 at 4:14 pm (672 social interactions)

Humtulips, WA - A man accused of homicide in Humptulips reportedly told friends Friday that demons were chasing him. Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott tells us 31 year old John Frances Chase met 88 year old Ralph Aldrich in the driveway of his home on State Route 101 in Humptulips Friday evening, shot and killed Aldrich with a crossbow, then drug his body back to the home. Scott said Chase then entered the home and assaulted Aldrich's wife June Aldrich with a hatchet, before he took the couple's truck and drove to a friend's house in Hoquiam. When Chase told his friend that he had just killed two demons and stolen their truck, authorities were contacted. Chase was taken to Community Hospital in Aberdeen for a mental evaluation, released, and spent the night in the Crisis Clinic. The following morning his friend traced the truck to the Humptulips home and found Aldrich dead in the driveway, his wife alive, but in critical condition in the home. June Aldrich remains in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center.
