Montesano Appoints Cory Rux to Fire Chief Position

MONTESANO, Wash. - The City of Montesano has a new Fire Chief "In evaluating all of the alternatives, I am extremely pleased and happy tonight to let you know that I am appointing Cory Rux as our new City of Montesano Fire Chief." After 5 months of consideration and negotiations, Mayor Ron Schillinger last night made the recommendation to city council to hire interim Fire Chief Cory Rux, with an important change for the city "We were able, with the union, to get the agreement about the working fire chief, and of course that was one of the things that was very important."
Rux took the position when Ken Walkington resigned in May. Walkington remains in Montesano and is running unopposed for Doug Streeters' council position number 4.
