Grays Harbor PUD Looks to Sell "Pain In The" Turbines

Aberdeen, WA - Grays Harbor PUD is looking to sell off some Combustion Turbines, General Manager Rick Lovely explained problems they are having with turbines at the joint-owned 44 megawatt gas fired plant in Eastern Washington "we did an in-depth tear down with an experienced mechanic, he found that the transition piece was severally eroding." Lovely said a previous settlement with GE on the turbines negated coverage of any future issues, a consultant was hired by the PUD to assist with marketing the 4 units. A joint meeting will be held later with the Franklin County PUD Commissioners in order the authorize surplus of the turbines.
