Riverside Building Removal Begins

HOQUIAM, Wash. - Removal of a building on Sumner in Hoquiam got some attention yesterday. Drivers slowed before the Riverside bridge to see a large crane helping Quigg Brothers crews remove the roof and begin stripping the smaller white building that hangs over the Hoquiam river. City Administrator Brian Shay tells us the 2 year removal process was prompted by a building department abatement order, the building is owned by Quigg Brothers. Shay said the company is still working to obtain state and federal permits to rehabilitate the larger blue building that also hangs over the river.
