Posted by David Haviland on October 5, 2011 at 4:23 am (368 social interactions)

Elma, WA - Celebrate Wolf Awareness Week at a “Wolf Café” presented by Wolf Haven International to be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 15 at the Elma Timberland Library. The program is geared to children and families. The library will also have a display for Wolf Awareness Week from October 15 through the end of the month.

Wolf Haven educators will talk about what wolves eat and how natural predators are important in maintaining a healthy planet. Hands-on activities will include examining a variety of wolf skulls and teeth as well as skulls, horns and antlers of the wolf's prey.

Wolf Awareness Week is October 16 to 22 this year. The observance was established in 1996 to build a consciousness of the role that a predator such as the wolf plays in our ecosystem.
