Oakville, WA - Timberland Regional Library is talking consolidation, with a public school.  Director Michael Crowse explained to the County Commissioners yesterday "We're looking at the opportunity of taking an abandoned elementary school [and] completely retrofit that into a school slash public library." Crowse said the cafeteria would also be rebuilt to accommodate a community center, and emergency shelter that could house about 250 people.
"Everyone is excited, and everyone is on board." Oakville Library Manager Debra Baker-Rusenelo says hers will be the first Public, and School, library in Washington State.
Crowse said he's already talked with Cosmopolis about doing something similar with their elementary school.
