Cosmopolis Wants to Check For Rocks Before They Mow

Cosmopolis, WA - City leaders don't want to jump into grass height restrictions as quickly as last month's failed ordinance, but city councilman Frank Chestnut asked  the council last night "There seems to be a fair amount of support for addressing the issue. Can we call the public together and see what they truly feel, one way or the other?"
Mayor Vickie Raines said she vetoed last month's ordinance for multiple reasons, "there is only one similar ordinance like this in the State of Washington, and it was Auburn." Raines said no workshop was conducted on the issue, it only applied to residents, and the ordinance didn't have support from the public works committee, nor the planning commission.
City Council will announce a public workshop on the matter at a later date.
