Hoquiam, WA - Parents, if you child doesn't have health insurance yet, Monica Ewing with Durney Insurance tells us, now is a better time than most to get them signed up. "September 15th started one of only two annual open enrollment periods for your kids if they don't have insurance."
Ewing says that children under the age of 19 can enroll before October 31st this year "they can have the worse diagnoses in the world and they can get the policy issued, and no waiting period for preexisting conditions."
By 2014 the rest of Healthcare reform will go into effect, easing enrollment restrictions. Ewing said that health insurance rates are expected to go up because of these new regulations.
