September is National Preparedness Month

Olympia, Wa - September is National Preparedness Month, Washington Governor Chris Gregoire said in a state proclamation "Citizen, companies, and government agencies should review their individual preparedness plans, contact information, and emergency kits."
September 21st will see a statewide test of the All Hazard Alert Broadcast Sirens in Clallam, Jefferson, Grays Harbor, and Pacific Counties of Western Washington.
Besides the regular monthly test on the first Monday of each month, Aberdeen Police Chief Bob Torgerson tells us the second test will be louder, and longer "That test will be all of the regular wail sirens, so it's going to go three minutes long, and it's going to sound like a police car siren."
Along with the regular Westminster Chimes test September 5th, the AHAB sirens will be fully tested on September 21st at 10:15.
