Salmon Fishery Changes Coming Next Week

Westport, WA - Westport Anglers will be able to fish Salmon daily beginning Sunday, however on Monday Salmon Policy Coordinator Pat Patillo says Anglers will have to release any chinook they catch in ocean waters off Washington's Coast. Patillo said "Catch rates for chinook have been strong throughout much of the season, but we still have substantial numbers of coho under quota." Barring further action, ocean salmon fisheries are scheduled to continue through mid to late September.
