WESTPORT, Wash. - Westport's Salmon Fishery is once again restricted to 5 days a week, The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife tells us a significant increase in the recreational catch has prompted the return to regular scheduling. Anglers have been able to fish daily since early August. Salmon Policy Coordinator Pat Pattillo said the daily schedule boosted Westport's numbers "since opening ocean waters off Westport to daily fishing, the number of anglers has dramatically increased and we saw record numbers of chinook caught."
Fisheries managers also restricted anglers to one chinook as part of their two-salmon daily limit.
