US Coast Guard Seeks to Regulate Towed Vessels

Washington, DC - The US Coast Guard would like to take their regulations of water vessels on-land throughout the United States. A Notice of Proposed Rule Making on the Federal Registry states that the Coast Guard would establish regulations governing inspection, standards, and safety management systems for towing vessels. Including requirements for lifesaving and fire protection, electrical and mechanical items, and operational requirements like crewmember training, navigation and towing safety, and record keeping provisions.
