Shelton Girl Wins Statewide Essay Contest on Death With Dignity Law

Shelton, WA - An 18 year old Shelton girl has been awarded a $1000 scholarship for her essay on Washington's Death With Dignity law. Megan Brennan's essay was titled "Thinking About Death is for Old People, Right?" The statewide essay contest, sponsored by Compassion & Choices of Washington, asked writers under 18 to demonstrate an understanding of the law that has been in effect since 2009. 18 year old David Kennedy of Gig Harbor won $500 for his second-place essay.
