HOQUIAM, Wash. - Police recovered about 5 pounds of marijuana, and 35 small plants while serving a search warrant over the weekend. Hoquiam Police Chief Jeff Meyers said about a week earlier, a patrolling officer noticed the strong odor or marijuana in the are and was able to pinpoint the smell to the home in the 600 block of Third street. Saturday afternoon the homeowner, a 41 year old man, and his 37 year old wife had authorization to grow, through a medical marijuana provision. Investigators determined the two were not in compliance with Washington's medical marijuana laws, were over limits on plants and processed amounts, and the wife's authorization was not valid.
