Safe Travels this 4th of July Weekend

Posted by David Haviland on July 1, 2011 at 5:02 am (335 social interactions)

The Washington State Patrol (WSP) will be busy this weekend focusing our enforcement efforts on impaired driving and unsafe driving behaviors. The WSP is asking for motorist's’ cooperation in following a few tips to make this holiday weekend safe for all that are traveling on the roadways.

  • Don’t drink and drive: If you plan on drinking also plan on having a designated driver.
  • Obey the posted speed limits: Be aware of slow traffic and reduced speed limits in construction zones.
  • Be patient: Plan extra time into your travels so that you arrive safely.

Our goal is to prevent serious injury and fatality collisions. We will be proactive in our efforts to prevent these tragedies from occurring. If you encounter a dangerous driver, please call 911 as soon as it is safe to do so. Together we can all have a safe enjoyable 4th of July weekend.
