Hood Canal School Fire

Hood Canal, WA - Multiple Fire Districts in Mason County responded to a fire at Hood Canal School yesterday morning, Chief Deputy Dean Byrd with the Mason County Sheriff's Office said the quick evacuation by school staff prevented injury after smoke was discovered on the second floor around 8:30. 25 to 30 firefighters helped extinguish the fire quickly, most damage to the school was a result of smoke and water. The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation.
