Olympia, WA - The State Department of Health may soon allow testing for more types of vision problems in elementary schools. Currently, the department only requires schools to screen students for near sightedness using the Snellen eye chart. Questions were raised as to whether the current rule prohibits any other types of testing, for any other types of vision problems. At Their June meeting tomorrow, the board will discuss interpretation of the current screening rules.
