Posted by David Haviland on June 2, 2011 at 12:13 pm (688 social interactions)

Aberdeen, WA - The first of three meetings today for former Grays Harbor Paper employees served about 100,  with a lot of reassurance "What everybody in this room needs to do, is go down to Worksource, and make an appointment to see a dislocated worker counselor." Frank Prohaska, Area Representative for the Association of Western Pulp and Paper Workers introduced state Health care, 401k, and unemployment advocates.

Chris Dunn, standing Committee Chairman said Union leaders are also gathering information to build a Foreign Trade Act request; "If we got that we could get up to three years of unemployment, which also included tuition, books, and tools for a trade school."
Meetings today at 12:30 and 4pm will also be covered tomorrow at 9:30 and 1:30pm at the Worksource offices. One question that rang through the Aberdeen Log Pavilion regarding employee 401k plans remained differed to a financial adviser. Worksource also provided information on mill job available throughout Washington and Oregon.
