Flood Authority Gets New Chair at Monthly Meeting

Chehalis, WA - Cosmopolis Mayor Vickie Raines is the new Chairperson of the Chehalis River Basin Flood Authority, after a vote yesterday Raines said she hopes new blood will invigorate this group "We needed new leadership to rebuild those relationships, and be able to move forward in a stronger much better way."
Former chair Terry Willis had been the subject of angst among the 11 member board lately after the signing of the inter local co-operative agreement, which some feel seeks to replace the flood authority "There's just some times things happen that you just can't get beyond, and a change is necessary, and I think that's how it came about."
Raines said last month's meeting on trust issues with members was shadowed by an entirely new co-operative agreement formed between Grays Harbor and Thurston County and the Confederated Tribes of the Chehalis.
