Coin Vaults Dissappear From Bus Yard

Hoquiam, WA - Seven vaults for Seven buses were removed overnight from the Grays Harbor Transit yard. The Hoquiam Police Department reports the coin vaults disappeared from the fenced yard at 30th and Bay Avenue some time between midnight last night and 4 this morning. An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen, the investigation continues.

Hoquiam Police report this is not the first time this has happened, a similar burglary had occurred at this location on May 21, 2010 where several of the coin vaults were later recovered outside of Hoquiam. Several leads were pursued, but no charges have yet been filed in that incident.

Investigators are working on obtaining video surveillance regarding this incident and are collecting other latent evidence.
