Emergency Zone Law "Amnesty Period" Ends Today

Olympia, WA - No Fooling, Washington State Patrol Troopers WILL ticket you for not slowing near an emergency zone beginning today. For the first 90 days, State Patrol has been educating the public on the new law that requires drivers to slow down or move over when passing stationary emergency vehicles on the side of the highway. Beginning April 1st, Officers throughout Washington will be ticketing drivers who fail to follow the new law.
