Posted by David Haviland on April 9, 2009 at 6:00 pm (589 social interactions)

An Olympia couple was driving in their motor home on Tilley Road in Thurston County when the motor home left the roadway and struck a tree, killing the passenger.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. state patrol received a report of a motor home vs. tree collision. The driver, 64 year old James Shinault of Olympia, was driving his 2005 Monaco Motor home eastbound on SR 121 (Tilley Road) when he left the roadway on the right shoulder. He went into the ditch and struck a tree damaging the passenger side of the motor home. His wife, 59 year old Kathleen Shinault, was sitting in the passenger seat when the motor home hit the tree. She was fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene. The roadway was closed in both directions during the three hour investigation of the scene. Drugs and alcohol were NOT a factor in this tragic and devastating collision.
