Limited Evacuations in Grays Harbor County

Montesano, WA - The Grays Harbor County Sheriff's Office says they are working to assist residents in the Moclips and Pacific Beach area evacuate to higher ground. Projections from the Washington State Emergency Management Agency Identify Moclips as receiving the highest waves at 3.3 feet around 7:10. The Grays Harbor County Emergency Management agency tells us "At this time , limited evacuations are taking place. The citizens around Taholah, Pacific Beach, Moclips and Iron Springs, living close to the ocean and who could be affected by the wave height, are being asked to move to higher ground. The Quinault Indian Nation, Grays Harbor Fire District 8, the local  Cert team & the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Department are assisting the residents in the evacuation.  All citizens are urged to stay away from the beaches, harbors and coastal lowlands. Although the initial wave times are indicated, the highest wave may not impact the area for a few hours after that time. Please listen to local officials and stay tuned to your radio for updates. "
