Ocean Shore Airport Looses a Fence Over The Weekend

Ocean Shores, WA - The Ocean Shores Airport was the victim of a hit and run incident over the weekend that stripped the cyclone fencing from the poles in front of the airstrip. Deputy Chief Russ Fitts tells us the driver apparently failed to negotiate the turn onto Duck Lake Drive from Albatross and ran through the fencing around 1 o'clock Saturday morning, then drove through the fence again, dragging fencing about 300 feet after leaving the property. Investigators were able to track down the alleged vehicle based on debris left at the scene, a 34 year old Ocean Shores man later admitted and was arrested around 7 am. The driver told officers that he had been drinking prior to the accident and was not injured. Preliminary damage estimates to the fence were around $3000.
