Naselle River Gauge Working Again, Replacement Planned

PACIFIC COUNTY, Wash. -- An important flood monitoring station on the Naselle River near Naselle, Wash., that was temporarily disabled due to high flows and large amounts of sediment has returned to normal operation on January 28, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Data via satellite from USGS stream-gaging station 12010000, Naselle River at Naselle, stopped on January 20, when river flow was dropping off several days after the storms. A temporary repair was completed on January 28. The long-term solution will be the relocation of the gaging station to a new, safer location at a downstream bridge, which should be completed by June 2011.
