Simpson Avenue Bridge Opening Late This Week

Hoquiam, WA - The Washington Department of Transportation now reports they are working dilegently to be able to open the Simpson Avenue Bridge in Hoquiam early Saturday morning. Lisa Copeland with the DOT said the contractor, Quigg Brothers completed their work today and turned the bridge over, DOT Crews still need to do some finishing work and testing of the bridge before they hope to open it early Saturday morning. "Our maintenance crews are hoping they can get a whole slew of work done over the next three days." Not to mention some signs and traffic cones that will need to be removed in regards to the detour route. Copeland said barring any unusual circumstances, the work should be done by late Friday, with the bridge opening early Saturday morning.
