Hoquiam, WA - Police are investigating a number of vehicle tire slashings that occurred sometime during the evening and early morning hour of Sunday November 28th and Monday November 29th.  One victim told an officer that he parked his vehicle in front of his home, in the 700 block of 1st Street, at 9:00 pm and when he went out to go to work at 5:00 am he discovered two of the tires had been cut.

Officers began checking the neighborhoods around the 700 block of 1st Street and discovered that vehicles on other streets also had tires that were slashed/cut, the estimated cost to replace the 22 tires that were slashed on the 14 vehicles is over $2,000.  It appears that the tires were slashed with a knife blade.

Anyone who may have any information regarding the tire slashings is asked to call Hoquiam police at 532-0892 Ext. 102.
