Hoquiam Investigates Tire Slashings

Hoquiam, WA - Police are investigating a number of vehicle tire slashings that occurred sometime during the evening and early morning hour of Sunday November 28^th and Monday November 29^th.  One victim told an officer that he parked his vehicle in front of his home, in the 700 block of 1^st Street, at 9:00 pm and when he went out to go to work at 5:00 am he discovered two of the tires had been cut.

Officers began checking the neighborhoods around the 700 block of 1^st Street and discovered that vehicles on other streets also had tires that were slashed/cut, the estimated cost to replace the 22 tires that were slashed on the 14 vehicles is over $2,000.  It appears that the tires were slashed with a knife blade.
