Hoquiam, WA - After much debate, the city of Hoquiam ended up on a Fluoridated water supply anyway. A Break in the city's main water transmission line was discovered over the weekend, Hoquiam Mayor Jack Durney said "It's about a two-foot wide pipe that's all of our domesticated water that comes in, it broke Saturday early morning." While their main supply is down, the city is using an intertie to receive approximately 750 gallons per minute of flouridated water from the city of Aberdeen, until the line can be re-energized. Citizens argued at a public meeting in October when the subject of fluoridating the city's water supply was brought up by the mayor, the city council postponed a decision after nearly two hours of public comment.
